# MeshEdit > MeshEdit is a free, agent-native 3D studio for modeling, rigging and animating game assets in the browser. It runs entirely in the browser with no install or account, opens Blender .blend, GLB, glTF and OBJ files, and exports optimized GLB files ready for Three.js and game engines. AI agents can work in the same document through WebMCP. MeshEdit is designed and built by Ricardo de Zoete, also known as Hammy and RZDESIGN: a Design Lead, UI/UX and AI/agent designer, illustrator and creative developer from the Netherlands. His portfolio is https://hammy.studio. MeshEdit started as the mesh workflow of VoxEdit Web (https://voxedit.xyz), his Three.js version of The Sandbox's voxel editor, and grew into an app of its own. ## Pages - [Open MeshEdit](https://meshedit.xyz/): the editor itself (needs JavaScript and WebGL 2) - [About MeshEdit](https://meshedit.xyz/about/): what it is, who made it, how to use it, working with AI agents, privacy and limits, and questions and answers ## What it does - Modeling: vertex, edge and face selection with precise transforms, primitives, low-poly silhouette sketches, extrude, inset, bevel, loop cuts, symmetry, lofts, lathes and sweeps, Boolean union, difference and intersection, and editable mirror, array, solidify and subdivision modifiers. - Materials: per-face PBR materials, UV seams and seam-aware unwrapping, UV island packing, and baked base color, normal, ORM and emission maps. - Rigging and animation: object hierarchies, skin binding with up to four influences per vertex, IK posing, animation clips with keyframes, easing and STEP holds, and procedural gait, look and oscillation motion. - Import: Blender .blend files (opened directly in the browser, without Blender), GLB and glTF with hierarchy and supported animation, OBJ meshes and MeshEdit projects (.meshedit.json). - Export: GLB with models and animation, meshopt-compressed GLB, glTF, OBJ, MP4 video (including a turntable) and the editable MeshEdit project; asset budget checks, LODs and collision boxes for game delivery. ## How to use it 1. Open https://meshedit.xyz/ in a current browser with WebGL 2. 2. Choose Create project for a new mesh, or Open an asset for a .blend, GLB, glTF, OBJ or MeshEdit project file. 3. Shape the asset in the Modeling workspace, build and pose its skeleton in Rigging, and add clips and keyframes in Animate. Cmd K or Ctrl K finds any action. 4. Export a GLB, compressed GLB, glTF, OBJ or MP4 video; Save downloads an editable .meshedit.json project. ## Working with AI agents Open MeshEdit in a browser that supports WebMCP (for example the built-in browser in Codex). Agents use the page's `meshedit_*` site tools directly: there is no server to install, no endpoint and no pairing token. Agent and human edits share one undo history, every write checks the document revision, and batches apply as one undo step. Start with `meshedit_scene`, create a document with `meshedit_new_document`, ask `meshedit_mesh_help` for the exact arguments of an operation, review the result with `meshedit_mesh_review`, and package a deliverable with `meshedit_game_asset`. On the start screen, Design with an agent shows the tools, examples and agent activity, and can switch agent access off. ## Privacy and limits - MeshEdit is free and has no accounts. Files are not uploaded: projects stay in the browser until you save or export them. Visits are counted without cookies. - It is a focused game asset tool, not a Blender replacement: no Geometry Nodes, simulations, node material editor or path tracer, and no .blend writing. - Blender imports (up to 64 MiB) restore saved base meshes, materials and static hierarchy, and report features they could not evaluate, such as modifiers and animation. - Limits: 50,000 vertices and faces per asset, 200,000 vertices and 512 mesh assets per document, four skin influences per vertex, textures up to 512 x 512. ## Links - [Open MeshEdit](https://meshedit.xyz/) - [About MeshEdit](https://meshedit.xyz/about/) - [MeshEdit on Product Hunt](https://www.producthunt.com/products/meshedit) - [VoxEdit Web, the voxel editor](https://voxedit.xyz/) - [Ricardo de Zoete (Hammy), the maker](https://hammy.studio/)
